“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:  to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:26 – 27

HKOM is excited about supporting both orphanages as well as ministries that are focused on orphan prevention.  These are some of the ministries that we have supported in the past.  We are anxious and excited to continue to play a role in helping out in the orphan crisis by coming alongside other ministries that have that same focus.

Bring Love In is a ministry in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that focuses on bridging widows and orphans together to make new and forever families.

Embracing Hope Ethiopia is a holistic Christian organization working in the Kore’ slum with vulnerable moms and their children.  With a place for their young child to be cared for and additional supports, these single moms are freed to work and provide for their families.  The result is more families are kept together and impacted by Jesus’ love, hope and transformation.

Bread to the Nations is a group of Christ followers, working along side our brothers and sisters in Carrefour, Haiti to restore God’s model for families.  We believe that God’s plan for raising children is to remain with their birth families whenever possible. These families, then, are to be supported by the local church so they can flourish and provide children with a loving, stable home environment. Bread to the Nations is committed to assisting with physical needs, educational opportunities and most importantly, sharing the love of Christ and raising up disciples in Haiti.

Salem E free Church recently went on a missions trip to Nicaragua.   HKOM gave money to be used for orphan care to this team.

We donated for supplies to be purchased for Haitian Int.  (Haiti Orphanage)

Recently we gave to a short term missions team traveling to Mexico. They prayed over how God would have them use this money and at just the right time, they asked a local woman if she knew of an orphanage with needs. She immediately began weeping as she had been praying for an orphanage and all the needs they had. She was able to use the money to purchase blankets, and many other items needed by the children at this orphanage.
